Last time we caught up with Loki, the beloved Marvel baddie had stolen the Tesseract and escaped to an unknown time, so today’s update was a welcomed surprise, but it was the Lady Loki confirmation that really caught off guard.

In the set photos below, which were shared on Twitter by @Q82004yousef1, Hiddleston is suited up and appears to be leading a team of Time Variance Authority (TVA) officers. The photo directly below appears to give us a first look at Sophia Di Martino as Lady Loki.

A few weeks back, Disney+ released a sizzle reel, and among the footage was a shot of Loki smiling while wearing TVA gear. We haven’t heard much about the plot thus far, but we’re starting to think Loki was captured by the TVA after the events of Avengers: Endgame and is being forced to work as punishment for his crimes. The TVA is a fictional organization that governs a number of realities in the ever-growing multiverse and has been known to recruit new candidates outside their genetic stalk, which could mean Loki and Lady Loki both work for the TVA now.

After giving it some thought, it occurred to me that the Loki we’ll see in the upcoming Disney+ series will be much different than the one Thanos offed at the beginning of Avengers: Infinity War. Following the conclusion of Thor: Ragnarok, Loki’s demeanor had changed, so much so that one could argue if he had survived, Loki was on his way to becoming more of a “good guy,” but that’s a story for another day. Come to think of it; it would be interesting to see Marvel’s What If…? series tackle a reality where Thor is the one Thanos kills and Loki survives.

Are you looking forward to the upcoming Loki series? What lesser-known characters would you like to see introduced? Let us know in the comments below.
