The sequel to the best movie in the DC Extended Universe may be taking Diana to the 1980s.

According to production details obtained by ScreenRant (which were subsequently confirmed in a separate report by TheWrap), Wonder Woman 2 will be set during the 1980s, with Diana facing off against the Soviet Union. DC Entertainment President Geoff Johns is reportedly developing the script with director Patty Jenkins, who is in talks to return for the sequel.

Another interesting detail in the report is that Chris Pine will reprise his role as Wonder Woman’s ally and love interest Steve Trevor. Given the fate of Pine’s character at the end of the first movie, it’s difficult to know exactly how that might be possible, but this sort of stuff happens in comic books all the time and to be fair, it would be a shame to lose an actor as good as Pine after just one film.

Wonder Woman is still making serious bank at the box office and is set to surpass Suicide Squad’s worldwide total gross of $745.8 million any day now.
