It probably won’t be long until Marvel releases the first trailer for Thor: Ragnarok, as the studio has started drip-feeding new information about the film this week. The latest release is an official plot synopsis, posted on Marvel’s website. It reads:

“In Marvel Studios’ Thor: Ragnarok, Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok – the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilization – at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela. But first he must survive a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against his former ally and fellow Avenger – the Incredible Hulk!”

The synopsis pretty much confirms everything we’ve heard so far surrounding the plot of Thor: Ragnarok, with the “other side of the universe” location most likely a reference to the Planet Hulk setting Sakaar. That being said, it’s interesting that the synopsis leaves out any mention of Doctor Strange, as the Sorcerer Supreme is rumored to play a surprisingly substantial role in the film. Then again, we don’t want Marvel to give away all the film’s secrets when it’s still so far away from release!

Thor: Ragnarok hits theaters November 3.
