Rockstar Games finally gave gamers something they had been waiting a long time for in 2016 — an announcement that a Red Dead Redemption sequel was finally in the works. Even better, they attached a vague “Fall 2017″ date to the project, meaning that the game would only be about a year away.
Release dates can be changed (often pushed back, hardly every moved up), but a British online retailer may have just accidently revealed the specific day that Red Dead Redemption 2 will hit the streets. Littlewoods, which sells pretty much everything, not just games, listed a pre-order version of the game with a guaranteed release date of October 2, 2017. While that’s hardly a solid confirmation, it wouldn’t be the first time that a retail store has accidently revealed major gaming news.
Those skeptical of the information have pointed out that October 2 is a Monday, not the traditional Tuesday or Friday that most games are released on. So take all of this with a grain of salt.
Whether the October 2 date is legit or not, we are still less than a year away one of the most long-awaited sequels in recent gaming memory. If you need a refresher, here’s the game trailer and a list of all of the things we hope Red Dead Redemption 2 will feature is below.
