Overwatch players have been waiting for more than a year for Doomfist — a character teased all the way back in the game’s original cinematic trailer — to be added to the game as a playable character and their wish as finally been granted.

As his name implies, Doomfist, whose real name is Akande Ogundimu, wields a giant cybernetic glove and is an Assault-class hero working for the villainous Talon organization. That means he is allied with characters like Reaper, Widowmaker, and Sombra.

Doomfist is an offense character who specializes in short-range combat. He can fire shotgun-like bursts from his gauntlet, unleash a powerful ground attack called the Seismic Slam, throw characters into the air with his Rising Uppercut attack, and charge up a Rocket Punch attack to slam enemies into walls. His ultimate ability is called Meteor Strike and sees Doomfist leap into the air and slam the ground, dealing a damaging attack with a wide radius. It looks like it will be super useful for knocking enemy players off of capture points or sending them flying off of ledges.

Currently, Doomfist is only available on PC in the game’s Public Test Realm (PTR) servers, but he should be rolling out to all versions of the game in the coming weeks.
